“I believe” is the start of an argument every single time it’s said. It’s not based on fact and it’s 100% opinion which is often meant to be used in court as a way of explaining something someone was to lazy to detail. I believe is also very powerful in the context of making someone understand a lie or a misconception. Wars have been fought over beliefs. Hearts have been broken because of those two words also.
Now I’m more of a “I know” kinda guy. I don’t like to say anything about anything unless I have all the facts and details in front of me. It’s dangerous but it’s also safe in that it makes me understand what I know. It’s also one of the most infuriating things about me and you can ask any of my ex’s or friends for that matter. The ability to know something unquestionable is probably the best weapon I have. I can look at something and have the advantage of really detailing it in my brain. Perhaps an IQ thing or something I picked up from experience. I know what I know.
So when presented with a situation I often need to examine the details of it exactly as they happened. I need to question things from every living point of view. I have also come to discover that as a writer I need to see in words what I am looking at. So for example of the cat box is dirty I will write down “cat box needs to be cleaned after work bare minimum time frame by 5pm”. It helps me remember the details and the task at hand.
This is also a side effect of overthinking everything. Which is great and horrible in the same. It helps when it comes to planning. If things go off track it’s a nightmare to figure out the why.
