I was born in 1983, which makes me 42 today. The entire time I have had the amazing luck to have two of the most amazing parents to ever grace the earth. I’m thankful for this every second I breath. While it’s been only 42 years for me, for my mother the adventure of life started 70 years ago TODAY. I try very hard to think about what that must have been like. I ask questions all the time about what life was like before me.
She was raised by her mother and father also and has two younger sisters. She met my father at a very very young age and I think about the ups and downs that come with relationships. The understandings, complications, the learning it takes to do what she still continues to do even today. Life can be wonderful and terrifying in many different ways. 70 is a long time to do anything.
I’m sure it’s a long time to dream, hope and imagine the worst about the future. It’s time to think about the future in wonderful ways also. The introduction of her children and later grand children I’m sure was an amazing thing to see. To watch those she invested so much of her heart into become good people must have been something. To contine to not know what tomorrow will bring and to wake up still having the motivation to do it takes strength and heart.
She was and continues to be the bravest, boldest, most heart loving and person I know. Saying Happy Birthday today seems like such a understatement on what I hope for my mother. With love and unending respect.. Happy Birthday mom and may the adventure continue for many more!
